An underrated physicist genius, who understood the Hanbury Brown-Twiss effect better than Hanbury Brown himself and predicted as well as realized the Purcell effect. Those achievements make him a founding father of quantum optics. I love in particular his textbook relativistic treatment of the magnetic field.
